U&F 26 goes live in a mad blur of hurry. I have to go to Spain tomorrow to sell my house in Almacena. Yes, the house in Andalucia where I had the idea for U&F has found a buyer and tomorrow morning at 4am we fly out to clear our stuff out and sign the papers. This means that the episode hasn't gone through the usual level of endless fuss and nit-picking. I spent 12 hours making it, but none checking it for gaffes because I ran out of time; there may be repeat lines in it, there may be burps, coughs, even tea slurpings - I don't know. For the first time ever, I haven't had time to check my final edit. I had to get it online before I go away, and that means getting it live tonight.

And so, with or without burps, Episode 26: It's Eighties Night at La Reina de Corazones. Underwood is keen to try contemporary dancing, but Keith isn't happy to see him trying it with Michelle.

Congratulations!

First of all, Mike, let me give you congratulations on this latest episode (26) of Underwood & Flinch. It is definitely a 'Heavy Hitter' (slight pun intended). Very well done, sir. Very well done.

Secondly, I extend another round of congratulations since I see that you have been short-listed as a finalist for a Parsec Award in the 'Best Speculative Fiction Story (Long Form)' category. Obviously, all the quality time you have socked into the production of U&F is paying off. You are up against some really strong contenders which can be taken as high praise whether you win or lose. Big thumbs up!

Thanks Ignatz

Regarding the competition for the Parsec: I figure whatever happens, the worst outcome is I get joint second place, which when you consider the amount of podcast novels that were submitted for the award, is quite an achievement :-)

This was an awesome episode, to use an over used phrase. I normally listen while I running and I completely forgot where I was and how fast I was going. What happened to the "bite" icons? I really liked those.
